Interview with Praiser

Hello and welcome to this quite fast interview... I hope you will be a little surprised... as it won't be any dead legend... but he is still being in the sixty four scene. Ladies and Gentlemen... let me present you: PRAISER/Reflex/Fatum

L)
Then... dear Wojtek... Please describe us yourself, how are you looking, how old are you, etc. you know what I mean... And what do you think about yourself...
P)
Hello out there guys... well... my real name is Wojtek Wardynski (obviously a little bit hard for foreigners to say )... I'm 20. It's great age for enjoying life and picking up girls. I'm studying at the BANK university 78 KM from my home town. Let's hope that someday I'll be a good bank man when I finish that university. I'm a very quiet man, but others find me crazy. I think it would be all about my life outside TV screen... few words about my famous. I am not sure about that famous thing but I have always tried to compose high quality tunes to entertain the sceners. If you think that I'm famous that's just fine, but I have never put big notice to that. Somebody can be famous because of his original haircut and cool way of living but he doesn't have to be happy about it.
L)
Then we can understand it that you don't like being famous? right? ... your problem... heh... my problem is next question... Have you got any personal computer, got an access to the internet... and what do you think about it...
P)
The answer is NO, I haven't got any PC and I don't have an access to the I-net. I am planning to buy a PC in nearest future, and concentrate myself on composing. The internet... well.. I don't like it... The way of communicating by the net is cool, but somehow I'm not patient enough for this...

L)
What do you think about HARDTRACK COMPOSER?!
P)
I've only seen Longhair and Shogoon doing something on this editor... well.. maybe a few musicians using it… I think it was the only accident. For me all editors have common options and difference between them is about way of editing. I prefer DMC's. Those editors are my favourite and I'm glad to have one of those...
L)
Okay... maybe you're right... but how is your composing looking... how long? etc.
P)
When I got to the scene I didn't know who I wanted to become, so I was spending a lot of time learning. When I decided to be a musician I was spending more time behind C64. Recently, due to lack of time and ideas it's very short time. The tunes which I making are different than those I had made a few years ago. I guess I’m making progress. To compose a tune usually it's 5-6 hours for me. But when my head is empty it took me even 2 weeks.
L)
There is so many subjects on the scene about C64 dying... what is your mind about it?
P)
It depends on guys like you (VN staff) for whom it's never enough and still want to create something new. Never let the C-64 scene die. Keep on rocking!

L)
Thanks... for keeping up my spirit... tell us something about copy parties in your scene life...
P)
I have been to the several parties, only couple of them were cool as I wanted them to be. Because I am this way of think that you are composing your party. If you think it will be fine, then it will be this way.
It's not the matter about productions and their quality, all is about the people and atmosphere. Mostly I was having fun on that kind of parties but there were several parties I would like to erase from my memory like POZNAN'95, where we had to leave party place just after one day and we were escorted by the police to the railway station. I think scene keeps on living when people meet each other and they have a vital kick to make next demonstration.
L)
How about the cracking scene... what do you think about it?
P)
Can we pass this question? I really don't have any idea about cracking scene...
L)
O.K. ... we put it next door... How about your think of REAL SCENE and UNDERSCENE... here in Poland we are cutting C64 scene to the both ones... on the UNDER SCENE there are only lamers... and newcomers?!??
P)
What do you mean about real scene? There's only one scene in my opinion and that's it. Each scener has been newcomer and it's not a reason for being on other scene than normal. Well...Poland is a very strange country don't you think? We have DISCO POLO, it's the same what UNDER SCENE???
L)
Okay... what about your handle? what does it mean?
P)
Many people, think that I PRAISE everyone and that's why I’m PRAISER, but my handle has a completely different source. That's an American name as well as TALBOT (my close friend, unfortunately he left the scene). I found this name in a dictionary and I liked it so it's still here in using. My first handle was WOJO (pretty stupid, isn't it?)
L)
Yes...quite stupid.. hehe.. tell us your favourites, just to look how you are filling the votesheets...
P)
I am not filling the votesheets up... but...if you want my brains to show you...
Demo group: OXYRON
Coder: GRAHAM
Crack group: ------
Demo: Unsound Minds
Graphician: VALSARY
Musician: JEFF
Magazine: ADWARP (Polish)
L)
huh... nice... I like Jeff very much too... Have you ever did something for no scene use, I mean composing of course... Are you only using C64 for it?
P)
Well... I did it...when I was in a high school. I made a tune for my biology teacher, for festival (ED - biology festival? - wow), but she dropped my music... then I pissed off her, and nicely said FUCK OFF... Now I'm doing some shitty songs for wedding parties using the keyboard sequencer, but as I mind before... it stinks.
L)
What do you think about PAJDA's (Faith) 16 young girls?
P)
When girl becomes a women perhaps she's not a virgin anymore, but Pajda knows it better. I prefer older girls. I had a 16 year old girl, but I was 16 too. Life is awful.
L)
Have you ever got the inspiration from other musicians? and who was it?
P)
Of course. I got the inspiration from C-64 musicians. First one was COMPOD. When I heard his tunes I thought: "I wish to be like him"... But now I'm trying to be original...it's hard...but I'm trying. Many of musicians use the same sounds, and similar rhythms...it's wrong way I think...
L)
Yes... you're again right, but there are exceptions on the scene... for example YOU... hehe... Have you ever had any enemies on the scene?
P)
NOPE and I won't get. It's stupid...because later there are wars on the scene.... and I don't like it...

L)
Okay... now let's play something... for example GREYSTORM... uhh... I meant BRAINSTORM... just answer the first thing of your mind after reading few words:
Praiser - Teresa
DRUNKED PRAISER - (will never happen again) competition - rule Vandalism News - great outfit
Grabba - scroller
Oxyron - history
beer - apple juice
lamer - you! (hehe)
Samar - Winter SHOES
Quiss - SSIUQ
Flash - photo camera
Scene - vodka
Swapping - nightmare
Mitch & Dane - I listened and didn't learn anything
L)
hehe... I really liked M&D answer... If you don't like so much M&D, then what do you think about techno??
P)
I really love techno... some people think it's not music, but just a few disharmonic sounds and no melody. I think this kind of music will create the culture in year 2000. Why do I prefer techno? I'm sick of soul and other shit!

L)
Say few words about Polish musicians: Kordiaukis, Daf, Wacek, and Shogoon...
P)
Well, Kordiaukis - great musician, great friend as well as others: Wacek and Daf. I have never met Shogoon, but as a musician he kicks butt. It's shame he's not active anymore. Every one of them has his own style and that's why it makes them so great.
L)
okay... now say something clever:
P)
IF YOU WERE DRINKING, DON'T DRINK! IF YOU WEREN'T DRINKING, HAVE A DRINK!
L)
??... huh...nice quote.. that's all about my questions, I'm rather in hurry, so we have to finish this fun factory. Any greetings?
P)
OK. Greetings to all my friends on the scene, and to you Leming, thanx for interviewing me... and greets to all readers of Vandalism News, just keep on guys! THANK YOU... for attention...
